ELM School of Music (ELM) and Emma Lines are committed to protecting your personal information. We want your interactions with us to be safe and enjoyable. This Privacy Policy relates to our use of any personal information we collect from you via our websites, social media platforms, and events. It also relates to our use of any personal information you provide to us by email, phone, SMS, by letter or in person.

What information we collect and how we use it

When you use this website

ELM and Emma will not use the personal information collected on this website (e.g. if you contact us through the Contact Form) for any purpose other than dealing with the service or information you have requested.  If you contact us directly, any information you give us will be treated confidentially and in accordance with the legal provisions concerning data protection. Your continued use of the site confirms your acceptance of our privacy policy and use of cookies.

Through WordPress Analytics, we collect anonymous statistics about your visit, like which of our pages you viewed. All of this information is anonymous – so we do not know who you are; just that somebody visited our site.

If you sign up for lessons

When you sign up for music lessons we will record specific personal information about you, such as your name, address and email address in hard copy. This is stored securely, and cannot be accessed by anyone else.

Emails

ELM and Emma may send you email notifications regarding your service (such as invoices, or information about concerts or dates). You have the ability to opt out of any of this communication at any time.

We will never provide your personal information or email address to any third parties except where they are specifically employed to help deliver our own services, for example exam accompaniments, or exam applications.

Who we share your information with

We will never sell your personal information, but may share only with permission when booking exams with ABRSM and Trinity Exam Boards.  Please refer to the ABRSM and Trinity Privacy Policies below for where your information goes after exam booking:

We also never share your personal information with other parties for their own marketing purposes.

How long we keep your information

ELM and Emma will only hold on to your personal information for as long as it is needed it for the purposes for which it is collected.  After that we will either delete it or anonymise it so that it cannot be linked back to you.
